At the end of March, Years 3, 4 and 5 enjoyed a fantastic residential trip to the Manor Adventure Outdoor Pursuits Centre in sunny Shropshire.
Manor Adventure is a fantastic destination for schools seeking thrilling and rewarding outdoor experiences. Offering activities such as abseiling, climbing, canoeing, kayaking and rifle shooting, the centre is designed to challenge pupils in a secure and supportive environment, encouraging them to step beyond their comfort zones, fostering independence and boosting self-confidence. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, it nurtures trust and helps to build lasting friendships among peers. The inspiring atmosphere ensures that every child leaves not only with new skills but also with unforgettable memories.
Our pupils took full advantage of everything the centre had to offer, taking part in a range of exciting outdoor activities, embracing new challenges and creating lasting memories. Some of their highlights are shared below…
Manor Adventure was one of the most fun places ever. I was scared at first, but the instructors made you feel so safe and I absolutely loved it there! Now, I’m going to tell you about canoeing and kayaking, my favourite activities, and here’s why… I loved canoeing and kayaking because the sun was shining and it was a great experience for everyone. I had kayaked before, but never canoed before, so this was a new experience for me and I found out I actually quite like canoeing! I was shared a dorm with Eve, Nia and Seiyon, a mix of Year 3s and Year 4s. They were very calm so we actually got some sleep! Overall, I had a great time.
Olivia (Year 3)
We were so well cared for by the instructors. There were wet activities such as canoeing and kayaking, there was the obstacle course (which was muddy!) and the underground maze. The low ropes, orienteering, rifle shooting and blind trail were brilliant, but climbing was my favourite and orienteering was amazing! I would recommend it for a school trip. The chef was so nice and the food was good – there were big portions! We had a blast!
Nia (Year 4)
The activities were amazing, our favourites were the blind trail and bouldering! We had so much fun working as a team. The instructors were so funny and kind, they helped us complete the challenging activities. The staff were kind and always cared for us, even at lunchtime. The food was perfection! We loved spending time with our friends doing the crate stacking, and the underground maze was brilliant. We thought we would be scared being away from home, but we had too much fun!
Alfie, Chloe, Annabel, Georgina, Georgie and Daya (Year 5)
Reflecting on the experience, Mrs Norris, who organised the trip, said:
“I am so incredibly proud of all the pupils for embracing every challenge and making the most of this amazing experience. It was wonderful to see Year 3, 4 and 5 work together and step outside their comfort zones. They truly made the most of the trip, showing great teamwork, determination and spirit throughout. It was a fantastic few days, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how they all took part. Well done, everyone!”
