Our Kingsley Sixth Form Kissing it Better volunteers sung Christmas carols yesterday for residents of Gainsborough Hall care home in Leamington. Our brilliant Head of Music, Dan Chambers accompanied the students on the keyboard, while they sang a range of carols. Students took handmade Christmas cards, gifts collected by all of our Sixth Formers, and a wonderful wooden advent tree calendar donated by Mrs Morgan that she won in the Christmas Fayre raffle. After singing carols and spreading some festive Kingsley joy, pupils sat and chatted to residents.
This is just one of the incredibly rewarding initiatives, our students take part in for Kissing it Better, the local charity working to end the isolation of old age by bringing the generations together. Not only is this a really important way for us to be of service in our local community, it is a chance for our students to make new friends, learn new skills, and build their confidence, and self esteem.
Thank you to all the Sixth Form students who took part, and to Dan Chambers for accompanying them. We are very proud to have such inspiring role models for the younger pupils in our Kingsley community.
