As we celebrate Kingsley’s 140th birthday year, we were excited to launch the 140 Acts of Kindness project at the start of the Spring Term. This initiative is designed to inspire every member of our school community to act with compassion and empathy, working collaboratively towards an end goal.

Last term saw the introduction of a new Character Education programme featuring the Round Square Heroes to Kingsley Prep Bringing Round Square Heroes to Life at Kingsley Prep – The Kingsley School. Round Square Hero, Compassionate Carlos, is in the driving seat this term, with a strong supporting cast of Diversity Dani, Teamwork Tama, Responsible Rami, Communication Cara and Inventive Idris making regular appearances.
In the Prep School we have shared our target of 140 Acts of Kindness amongst the different year groups. Seven classes (with Little Aviators and Reception combining their efforts), will focus on one Act of Kindness each week, over a twenty-week period.
The staff, children and parents have collaborated to build a comprehensive and varied calendar of events, designed to foster compassionate and caring behaviour, and strengthen the ‘Kingsley Kind’ ethos that is at the heart of the school.
Last week, Year 5 and 6 children painted ‘Positivity Pebbles’ with bright colours and motivational messages. The children are going to leave their pebbles in public spaces around Leamington Spa, in the hope that they will make passers-by smile.
The Year 2 children made beautiful cards for the residents at Binswood Retirement Village and were very pleased to be able to hand these cards over to Margaret, Erica, Anne and Pat in person. It was a joyful afternoon, full of stories, laughter and fun.
Year 3 have been learning how to give and receive compliments and have been looking for the positives in every situation. It has been lovely to see their compliments being received with pride and the Year 3 classroom has been a hive of positive energy.
With plenty more Acts of Kindness to look forward to you, we know that working towards our final goal will strengthen bonds within our school and local community and wonderful memories will be created along the way.
