Prep pupils delved into ‘a whole new world’ with their vibrant, energetic and exhilarating production of Disney’s ‘Aladdin’.
Over two nights, packed audiences enjoyed the enchanting story of Aladdin, the street rat who liberated a genie from a lamp and had his wishes granted. Year 6 pupil Lydia was cast as Genie, while Grace and Alessa shared the role of Aladdin, and Daisy and Elsa portrayed Jafar. They gave outstanding performances, delivering their lines with enthusiasm and singing their hearts out.
The main cast of Year 6 pupils was brilliantly supported by a chorus and ensemble of Year 3 to 5 pupils. They took on the challenge of performing beloved songs from the film and Broadway musical, including ‘A Whole New World’ and the electrifying ‘Friend Like Me’.
Director and teacher Mr Whatson expressed his delight, saying: “It has been an absolute blast working with Year 6 on Aladdin this year. They have all worked incredibly hard and performed their parts superbly. I couldn’t be prouder of them!”
The performances on both nights were met with lengthy standing ovations, reflecting the pupils’ remarkable talent and dedication
