Foundation partners Orchestra of the Swan return for another season of outstanding orchestral music, with four concerts at Warwick Hall – with a 10% discount when you book three concerts.
Last season featured three more show-stopping performances at Warwick Hall:
On 16 October, we welcomed classical guitarist Xuefei Yang as the soloist, alongside conductor Michael Collins at the ‘Neoclassic’ concert. Xuefei performed the principal concerto – Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuz – with the evening also featuring some of our Foundation music ensembles perform before and during the interval of the concert.
On 8 February, 14 of our most talented musicians had the fantastic experience of performing side-by-side with the professional Swan Orchestra at the ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ concert, which also featured the gifted Jeneba Kanneh-Mason, with Michael Collins returning as conductor. Jeneba performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 23, while our pupils performed Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite fantastically alongside the Swan players.
The final concert of the season was on 28 June, as we welcomed Roderick Williams OBE, one of the UK’s most sought-after baritones, alongside conductor Rebecca Miller. The concert featured Wagner’s Prelude and Liebestod (Tristan and Isolde); Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder, Puccini’s Crisantemi and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K.550, and was the perfect way to end the season.
All three concerts were truly fantastic, with Warwick Hall serving as the perfect venue for such breath-taking performances.
We are delighted to be offering four more concerts at Warwick Hall for the upcoming season; representing the continuation of a unique and valuable orchestral experience here at Warwick Schools Foundation.
