At The Kingsley School we have a small experienced team who support students with a range of additional needs. The Learning Support Department provides teachers and students with advice, help and support to enable all students to learn effectively. We work closely with a range of external professionals, including educational psychologists, occupational therapists, counsellors and mental health professionals.
All interventions are tailored to meet the individual needs of our students. Actions are reviewed and refined, using the graduated four-part cycle (assess, plan, do, review). This facilitates better understanding of a student’s needs and identification of the support required to enable them to become life-long learners. Parents have a unique understanding of the needs of their children with SEN; their strengths and difficulties. Their involvement, alongside their children, is important to us in planning the provision and support needed whilst at Kingsley School.
