Milton Abbey School’s Leadership and Adventure residential conference for 12-14-year-olds offers a dynamic and enriching experience designed to develop young leaders through a blend of exciting activities and creative projects.

Over the course of a week, participants will engage in a variety of daytime activities such as sailing, mountain biking through scenic woods, and learning farming skills. They will also participate in command tasks, a team sports competition, and beach and water sports, ensuring a mix of challenges and fun.

Evening activities are equally engaging, featuring daily practice for an end-of-week house team music competition, access to the school’s sports facilities for recreational pursuits, and a lively disco send-off, all set within the picturesque surroundings of our British boarding school.

Additionally, the conference offers opportunities for creative expression through projects in our farm, fashion, and design and technology workshops with a focus on sustainability.

This comprehensive programme aims to foster teamwork, creativity, and leadership skills in a supportive and stimulating environment. To further enrich the educational experience, the week will include an exciting trip to London, featuring a visit to the renowned London Science Museum and a thrilling ride on the London Eye.

RS Inspiring Voices – The Big Baraza

Delegate cost: £1705
Dates: Saturday 12 April to Thursday 17 April 2025
Age: 15-18

This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in a worldwide discussion, learn how to debate, speak in public, and influence those around you. It will be hosted in the prestigious debating chamber at The Oxford Union, and the Sheldonian Theatre, the ceremonial home of the University of Oxford, in which degree ceremonies take place.

Students will engage in courageous conversations in baraza groups, discussing some of the most important global issues facing their generation.

This event will offer students a unique, non-competitive opportunity to develop key listening, oratory, and leadership skills. Participants will engage in meaningful dialogues, gaining a deeper global understanding of different perspectives on some big world issues, whilst honing their ability to both confidently and respectfully articulate their thoughts and contribute their opinions to the conversations.

Students will follow in the footsteps of a long line of notable speakers who have appeared in the debating chamber. Previous speakers include scientists Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking, Nobel Peace Prize Winners Malala Yousafzai, and Mother Teresa, as well as actors, musicians, Presidents, Prime Ministers, and royalty from across the world.
