The Kingsley School motto is “Esse Quam Videri” – Be what you seem to be or Be true to yourself.

Whatever a student wants to be, the School encourages and supports them to develop and refine their  interests and ambitions through an extensive range of extracurricular activities. Individuality is important at Kingsley and celebrated throughout the School.

A huge advantage of Kingsley is that the School is small enough to enable each student to be known and yet it is large enough to offer a wide selection of enrichment opportunities to develop gifts and talents in everyone. The School is fortunate to own extensive playing fields with a pavilion, netball and hockey pitches and rounders and tennis courts.

The diverse selection of clubs and activities on offer include: art, badminton, Bookworm Club, Chinese, cross stitch, Classics, Food Club, hockey, karate, orchestra, public speaking, riding, swimming, swing band, tennis and Quiz Club.

From a young age, students are encouraged to explore their creative abilities through a rich programme of performing arts including speech and drama, singing, dance and music – all of which can lead to nationally recognised qualifications such as those of The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).

Older students can take part in a driving theory awareness course, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, Young Enterprise, World Challenge and special events such as Study Skills at Balliol College, Oxford.

Many cultural and sporting trips are organised every year to enrich the taught curriculum and learning: recent examples include visits to local businesses, museums and theatres as well as destinations further afield such as Barbados, South Africa, Pompeii and Ypres.

"A particular strength of the school is the high proportion of students in each cohort which participates and succeeds in extra-curricular activities."
