Scholarships

At The Kingsley School, we believe in recognising and nurturing talent, ambition, and dedication. Our Scholarship Programme provides outstanding students with opportunities to develop their strengths and contribute to the school community in meaningful ways.

Scholarships are available for entry into Year 7 and Sixth Form and are awarded in recognition of excellence across a range of disciplines. Scholars benefit from specialist mentoring, enrichment activities, and unique opportunities designed to challenge and inspire them.

Scholarship Categories

We offer scholarships in the following areas:

  • Academic Scholarships – awarded by invitation based on exceptional academic ability.
  • Creative and Expressive Arts Scholarship – for students excelling in subjects such as Drama, Fine Art, Photography, Textiles, or Music.
  • Sports Scholarship – for students demonstrating outstanding ability and commitment in their chosen sport.
  • Pioneer Scholarships – inspired by the pioneering spirit and values of our founder, Rose Kingsley, these are scholarships for students who demonstrate a sense of adventure, entrepreneurship, curiosity, and a spirit of service.

For more information on specific scholarships and to apply please see below.

Scholarship Awards

Students may apply for more than one scholarship, and awards are made at the point of entry. Scholarships can provide a fee reduction of up to 50% of tuition fees, though the majority range between 5% and 20%. Every year, there is a high level of interest in both Scholarships and Bursaries, and the number of awards is limited.

Scholarship awards are made in recognition of a student’s excellence and potential, and recipients are expected to actively engage in their scholarship area and contribute to the school community. Scholarship awards may be revoked if scholars fail to fulfil the conditions on which they were granted.

Applying for a Scholarship

Scholarship opportunities are available at specific entry points, and candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for their chosen area. Application deadlines and assessment details are provided in advance, ensuring students can prepare thoroughly. Please note that a general Application form must be submitted at the same time as the Scholarship Application form.

Bursaries

Bursaries are different from scholarships; they are means-tested financial awards designed to support families who may require assistance with school fees. Unlike scholarships, which are awarded based on academic, artistic, or sporting merit, bursaries are assessed on financial need.

To learn more about bursaries and how to apply, please visit the Bursaries section on our website.
