Next week, we will be saying goodbye to our valued members of staff who are moving on to pastures new. We will celebrate their achievements in the final assembly of the term and thank them for all their hard work and commitment to the Kingsley community, on behalf of all pupils – current and alumnae – who have benefited from their expertise, kindness, and professionalism across the years.
In advance of this, we would like to formally welcome new members of staff who will be joining the Foundation in 2024. We are very much looking forward to working with them and know that they will make a real and positive impact in the Years to come.
Miss L Jaillet: Modern Foreign Languages
Miss Jaillet is a highly experienced and knowledgeable teacher of MFL who joins us from her current post at a school in Coventry. With a specialism in teaching both French and Spanish, Miss Jaillet is looking forward to contributing to the team and helping our students achieve success in their public examinations and foster a love of learning another language. We also look forward to the extracurricular opportunities upon which Miss Jaillet will lead, which will add further vibrancy and colour to the study of MFL at The Kingsley School. Miss Jaillet joins the MFL department after the Christmas break.
Mrs V Bacon: Head of Economics, Business and Future Focused Learning
Mrs Bacon joins The Kingsley School as Head of Economics and Business, with an additional role related to the development of Future Focused Learning. Mrs Bacon joins us as a highly experienced and qualified teacher and leader, having worked in the state sector and the independent sector, both in the UK and abroad. Her experience of teaching and learning in and outside the classroom will add incredible value to the study of these subjects at both GCSE and A-level, and we are really looking forward to her starting with us in April. We are also excited about her new role as Head of Future Focused Learning. Mrs Bacon will take charge of our partnership with 8billionideas and work on designing a varied curriculum that will promote the development of the skills of the future. As part of this, she will be building relationships with local businesses and organisations to work with our current senior school students and Sixth Formers, which will add value to our skills development curriculum and careers program at The Kingsley School.
Ms R Nelson: Head of Year 10, Teacher of English, Drama and Sociology
Ms Nelson rejoins The Kingsley School having spent time here as maternity cover between 2022 and 2023. As a Kingsley Alumnae, Ms Nelson has a deep understanding of the ethos of the school, how we look after the students in our care as individuals and how we will always do our best to ensure that all of our pupils and students become the best version of themselves, both in and outside of the classroom. With a wealth of experience in pastoral and academic leadership, Ms Nelson will be a fantastic addition to the pastoral team as Head of Year 10 and teacher of English, Drama and Sociology. We are very much looking forward to working with her as she rejoins the Kingsley community in January.
